Tagger for Resolve is an Al powered metadata tagging tool that lives in your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Windows). It analyzes your video clips using Claude Al and writes structured, searchable metadata directly into DaVinci Resolve's Media Pool.

How It Works

Tagger analyzes your video clips using Claude Al and returns structured metadata across 15+ fields, which it writes directly into Resolve's clip properties. Everything flows into Resolve's native metadata system: Keywords auto generate searchable bins, Shot and Scene fields populate Smart Bin filters, and Description gives each clip a plain language summary.

Two tagging modes: set a watch folder for automatic background tagging (footage gets processed overnight, ready when you open Resolve in the morning), or click Tag Open Project to process every clip in your current project at once.

After purchase, a license key will be emailed. Open the app from the menu bar/system tray, click "Enter License Key," paste the key. The key is stored securely in macOS Keychain or Windows Credential Manager. No account creation required, no recurring charges.

Download and install the app. In DaVinci Resolve Studio, go to Preferences > System > General and set "External scripting using" to Local. Launch Tagger for Resolve from the menu bar/system tray, enter your license key, and set a watch folder or click Tag Open Project. Full walkthrough at tagger.mov/install.html.
